Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 2026

At MyIrishWages, we believe in full transparency. This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies (like Local Storage) to ensure our application runs smoothly.

1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. In our case, because MyIrishWages operates as a modern Web App (PWA), we primarily use a secure browser feature called Local Storage instead of traditional cookies. This allows us to save your shifts and preferences directly on your device without sending them back and forth to a server constantly.

2. How We Use Them

Strictly necessary — always on. These are what make the app an app. They cannot be switched off, because without them there is nothing to use:

  • Core Functionality: Saving your logged shifts, wage settings, and adjustments so they are there when you open the app again.
  • Authentication: Keeping you securely logged in if you are a PRO member using our cloud sync.
  • Preferences: Remembering your app theme (Dark/Light mode), accent colors, and zoom levels.
  • Referrals & Invite Links: Temporarily storing an invite or referral code when you access the app via an invite link, ensuring proper account setup and any applicable rewards are applied correctly.
  • Your Cookie Choice: Remembering the answer you gave below, so we do not ask you again on every visit.

Measurement — only if you say yes. These are not strictly necessary, so they stay switched off unless you accept. Nothing here runs until you do, and the app works exactly the same either way:

  • Signup Source: A short label describing how you reached us — for example "Google Ads", "Google search", "Direct", or the website that linked to us. It is written once and never updated afterwards. If you later create an account, that single label is saved with it, so we know which channels actually help workers find us. If you never create an account, it never leaves your device.
  • Google Ads tag: We run ads to reach Irish workers, and Google's tag (gtag.js, from googletagmanager.com) tells us which of those ads led to a signup. Unless you accept, we never load it at all — your browser does not even contact Google. If you reject, or never answer, it simply never loads.

To be straight with you: these two exist so we can spend a small marketing budget where it genuinely reaches people, instead of guessing. It is still a world apart from what the ad industry normally does — a single channel label, written once and never changed. We build no profile of you, we do not follow you around other websites, and we never sell any of it. It plays no part in what you are shown or what you are charged.

3. Third-Party Services

If you create an account or upgrade to PRO, our trusted partners may use strictly necessary cookies to keep you secure:

  • Supabase: Uses secure tokens to manage your login session and keep your cloud data safe.
  • Stripe: Uses cookies for fraud prevention and secure payment processing when upgrading to PRO.

4. How to Manage Your Data

Because your shift data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can clear this data at any time by:

  • Using the "Sign Out" button inside the MyIrishWages app (which clears local data for privacy).
  • Clearing your browser's history, cookies, and site data through your browser settings.

5. Contact Us
